At the time I am writing this post, we are 20 days away from the Courageous Creation event of the year! Melanted Masterpiece will be the runway show to see and it takes a team to get it done! It all starts as an idea which my advisory board members have helped to strategize the event. Casting models, acquiring the event space, vendors, social media promotion, and donations are just a few areas where the team is essential.
I call them 'The Dream Team'; people from all walks of life with different talents and abilities pool their skillsets to make this event a success. Most fashion shows are made up of several designers, showing various collections and splitting the cost. However, when you are a solo designer, it is your responsibility to plan, execute and finance the event but no one person is ever an island in business. As previously mention, I have an advisory board made up of 10 people, executive assistance, a social media manager, and an assistant seamstress. These are just a few essential roles that provide support for the business. In many of these roles, you will hardly ever meet the face behind the name but their position is as important as the finished product.
As the days draw closer, my team is ready to meet any challenges that may arise to produce a stellar runway show and I can't be more thankful for each of them!
